Is a French city, located in the overseas department of Guadeloupe, it owes its name to the volcanic rocks that bristle the northern point of the village. Its inhabitants are called Pointe-Noiriens or Ponti-Néris. Pointe-Noire is located on the west coast of the island of Basse-Terre, called côte-sous-le-vent. It extends over the western slope of the volcanic massif of Basse-Terre, which flows abruptly into the Caribbean Sea. Its eastern limit is constituted by the ridges, its southern limit with the commune of Bouillante by the Colas river and its northern limit with the commune of Deshaies by the ravine Petite-Anse.
