The Cousteau Reserve
The dive site owes its celebrity to Commander Cousteau supported by Louis Malle, who shoot there in the 1950s some images of the feature film “The world of Silence”.
Back on the site in the 60’s, Commander Cousteau declares that the site must be protected.
Since 2010, the Pigeons Islets and their seabed have become the heart of National Park. The National Park of Guadeloupe thus takes the management of the site and regulates dives and fishing. Controls started for the sake of protection of all species.
